Subject: Dear Other One Fans,
Forget the reviews, this Other One is the SheeT Bi-atch! Right now I'm listening to this Other One for the forth time this hour. Many have tried to do the Other One. Noone, until now, have been successful, 'The Dead' couldn't even do it (probably because they didn't have Kimock). I mean, after listening to this, try to tell me Jimmy Hearing was more worthy than Kimock. Good Luck!

4 Stars without having listened to the rest of the show, Your House just started and it sounds like this show has the makings of a fve star show, but I haven't heard it yet.

Last word - Go for it! Check this show out, especially (you guessed it) the Other One!

Subject: what is that SOUND?
i agree, this particular makeup of musicians is still embryonic in cohesiveness .. but listening to some of their brief shining moments, and you've got yourself a fantastic sound ratio.
for example, try the later half of scarlet into fire with the uniformity of the entire group, traditionally following the lead guitarist. and steve with his ability to create and not recreate; simply bliss when kimock is in his element.
take it further ..

Subject: Finally, Someone telling it like it is.
Man, when this show started i thought i was going to be in for a treat. The groove they had going in the beginning of the first song was a new level. Suddenly it went sour. man i like jammin, but i dont care for musicians that are not prepared. i swear jen did not know one set of lyrics, to any of the songs. she was reading everything she sang off of sheet music. it was almost like glorified karaoke. i realize that this was the first show of the tour, but it sounds like there wasnt much improvement over the course of the tour. i usually love what mickey puts together, but i must say i felt embarrassed watching this. this was a good group of musicians that have the potential of taking us to new dimensions, but this fell short. you have got to get it together before you go on tour. there was some good points in the show, but not many. i would like to see mickey stay with more of the planet drum lineup. maybe these musicians with planet drum drummers, with more chants, then someone singing songs. maybe a band with more of a trance, heavy digital grooves style.

i also got bad seats after the venue change. i was to have seats, somwhere in front of mickey, about 4 rows back. hell i ended up with second to last row, top level, center seats. after this whole experience i felt like someone just took my wallet and ran.

This band has got great chemistry. Hunter's new lyrics are pure genius. Kimocks solos are stellar.
Check out the previous summer tour gigs if your not feeling Jen. Either way this band is a force to be reckoned with and I hope for more extensive tours in the future !!

The quality sound of this show is amazing...Steve Kimock is the man, hands down, put em down, cause SK rocks this show...i saw the two other ohio shows on the run. The columbus and hob show in cleveland, i hope to see them here. they need to swtich up the tunes a little bit better. that the only down fall....gordon it funky as hell too.

Subject: not bad...but not great
First, I want to mention that this is an excellent audience recording. The sound quality on this show is five stars...but the show itself brings it down.

Don't get me wrong - this is an excellent group of musicians - but this show left me a bit disappointed for several reasons. First, the Rhythm Devils originals are not very good songs. They are boring and very simple songs, with only brief moments of interest. Second, they sound a bit disorganized, almost as if they didn't practice at all before getting on stage. There are several sloppy moments in this show - especially in "The Wedge."

Finally (and I didn't factor this into my rating), the venue and audience sucked. First there was the whole problem with the venue change and seating changes. I had bought a good seat online - somewhere near the front - and then the ticket I got in exchange was in the second row from the back. The venue was not prepared for all of this, and they didn't handle the situation very well. Some people were unable to see the show because of various problems. Then the audience - pretty lame. That's Harrisburg for ya, I guess. Who the hell sits for an entire show like this? More than half of the audience stayed in their seats and didn't get up to dance or anything. True, some of the songs were kind of boring, but who can resist grooving to "Loose Lucy," "The Wedge," or "Scarlet>Fire"? The energy level was pretty low, and I was surprised when people weren't recognizing the Grateful Dead covers. I had people asking me "What song is this?" for New Cumberland and even Scarlet Begonias. Sad.

The show does have many bright spots, though. Loose Lucy is a lot of fun, and there are many sweet Kimock solos. The band had a lot of fun, and that is very evident in many of the songs.

Overall, I'd say the show is 3 1/2 stars...but I'm giving it a 3 because it isn't quite a 4 star show.
